This series offers a versatile range of comprehension and guided reading texts with accompanying questions and activities. They can be used for comprehension practice as well as for groups working independently during guided reading sessions. The scheme provides teachers with a range of age-appropriate, differentiated texts. These will enable children to complete the questions and activities with the aim of helping them become confident, proficient readers.

Each year group includes: Book 1 (containing the reading texts and activities) and Book 2 (containing the comprehension question book and the comprehension answer book).

Book 1:

  • In Key Stage Two, all years feature a reading text differentiated for three different levels – Red Readers (lower achieving readers), Green Readers (middle achieving readers) and Blue Readers (higher achieving readers)
  • Though the text is differentiated for different reading levels, the content remains the same, allowing lower achieving readers to access the same story or information as the rest of the class.
